The Pentagram, also called a pentacle or Pentalpha, gets its name from the Greek Penta, meaning “five” and gramma, meaning “a letter”. It is a five-pointed figure, constructed by intersected five straight lines. It is usually associated with femininity, knowledge and also used in Wiccan and Celtic religions. Different cultures attribute different meanings to this symbol, in West African traditions the pentagram is a symbol for the star Sirius. The pentagram was also used in ancient times as a symbol for the five senses, elements, or of the five wounds of Christ.
Triquestra is symbolic of the threefold nature of the Goddess as the mother, maiden, and crone. The mother as a goddess is representative of creation, the maiden is representative of innocence and the crone is representative of wisdom. It is also representative of the forces of nature (earth, fire, and water) and the three interlocking circles are symbolic of female fertility.
The Sun has always been worshipped and considered to be all-powerful, supreme and a preserver. It is supposed to control the actions and impact of the planets as well as their moons. The Sun Wheel symbol is believed to invoke the great cosmic powers to bless the Earth with fertility, life, abundance, prosperity, and peace.
